As the period of heightened fire risk continues, Pacific Gas & Electric shut off electricity in parts of seven Northern California counties early Wednesday.

The shutoffs affect about 47,000 customers in the counties of Butte, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Yuba, Napa and Sonoma. The areas are shown by the purple line on the map above.
