SAN JOSE – A person died after being hit by a Caltrain in San Jose late Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

The collision, which involved southbound train no. 156, occurred between the Capitol and Blossom Hill stations shortly after 5 p.m., according to Caltrain spokeswoman Tasha Bartholomew.
