Citing recent deadly mass shootings in Gilroy, El Paso, Dayton and elsewhere, more than a hundred CEOs of U.S. companies — including many well-known tech industry bosses — on Thursday urged Senate leaders to take action on gun violence.

Among the tech CEOs who signed the letter were Twitter’s Jack Dorsey, Uber’s Dara Khosrowshahi and Lyft’s Logan Green. Other big-name signatories from the Bay Area: Laurene Powell Jobs of Emerson Collective, and the CEOs of Gap and Levi Strauss, Art Peck and Chip Bergh. Conspicuously missing from the list are the chief executives of Apple, Facebook, Google and YouTube, who have spoken out about politically charged issues before, such as immigration, the U.S. travel ban and LGBTQ issues.
