Police are investigating a vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in downtown San Jose early Thursday.

Traffic was blocked from the intersection of Fourth and San Fernando streets as officers investigated the death, which occurred across from the library at San Jose State University. Officers first responded to a report of a body in the road at 2:45 a.m. Thursday, San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia said, and San Fernando Street, between Fourth and Fifth streets, was expected to be closed off until about 8 a.m.
