SANTA CLARA — Two practices into training camp — one good, one not so much — should not foreshadow Jimmy Garoppolo’s comeback potential.

When the 49ers put their full pads on Monday, that will ramp up coach Kyle Shanahan’s evaluation process, which he’s been reluctant to start because those initial practices were “kind of a mess” in terms of pocket protection.
