80-acre fire in foothills near San Jose fully contained

MILPITAS – As of Thursday evening, an 80-acre fire in the foothills northeast of Milpitas and San Jose was fully contained, authorities said.
Dubbed the Sweigert Fire, the blaze broke out about 5:25 p.m. Wednesday near Felter and Sweigert roads in the Spring Valley area, according to Cal Fire spokeswoman Pam Temmermand.
