SAN JOSE – A woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances Thursday near the Guadalupe River in downtown San Jose, authorities said.

Patrol officers discovered the body about 10:25 a.m. in the area of the Guadalupe River Trail near West Julian and North Autumn streets, according to San Jose police Officer Gina Tepoorten.
