OAKLAND — Just days before the deadly Ghost Ship warehouse fire, the city issued a notice of a violation to the building owners for blight. Years before, a hired electrician called the warehouse a “death trap.”

A witness from the city and the electrician testified on Tuesday during the trial of Derick Almena and Max Harris, each accused of 36 counts each for the 36 people who perished in the Ghost Ship warehouse fire on Dec. 2, 2016.
