After weeks of decline, California’s daily case count appears to have plateaued at about 3,500 per day — its lowest point since mid-June – where it has been for the better part of a week, according to this news organization’s analysis of county-level data.

Counties around the state reported another 3,485 cases of COVID-19 Thursday, making little difference on the seven-day average, which at about 3,440 cases per day was about equal to where it was last Thursday and up about 5% from Sunday, when it reached its lowest point since June 16.
