SCOTTS VALLEY – Authorities on Monday released images of a man they believe stole the wallet of a Cal Fire firefighter helping battle the CZU Lightning Complex Fire in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

“We believe this person is likely a Bonny Doon resident,” said Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Chris Clark at a news conference about the wildfire. “What we’re hoping is that if you’ve been evacuated from the Bonny Doon area you may recognize him.”
