Q: I realize we are still in the middle of the pandemic and traffic hasn’t returned to pre-COVID-19 levels, but I’ve noticed big rigs on Interstate 580 in Oakland on at least two occasions when there was no traffic issue on Interstate 880. I thought that wasn’t allowed under most circumstances. What is going on?

A: Most likely cheaters were trying to shave time off their drive. The CHP has been alerted. Big rigs are banned on 580 unless the CHP grants permission. There is another freeway where drivers are complaining about truck traffic, too.
