SAN JOSE — A major thunderstorm system that caused multiple power outages and sparked fires across the Bay Area could continue into Monday, the National Weather Service says.

It was a busy night for firefighters all over the Bay Area Saturday after a long day of sweltering temperatures was followed by a severe thunderstorm that developed off the Central Coast late last night and rained lightning on dry vegetation.
