The largest of half a dozen fires that began Monday morning in Napa County burned 2,500 acres in less than 12 hours.

The Hennessey Fire was reported around 6:30 a.m. on Hennessey Ridge Road, near the Chiles Creek inlet to Lake Hennessey, said the Sonoma-Lake-Napa unit of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
