Coronavirus: California tops 152,000 cases and more than 5,000 deaths

With most of the state now easing into reopening, allowing the resumption of old, familiar activities, the state’s known COVID-19 infections increased by 2,084 over the weekend, bringing the new total to 152,127 confirmed cases.
The state’s 7-day average of infections remained high. In most days over the past two weeks, there have been more than 3,000 new cases reported daily, setting the 7-day average at 3,058.
