After hearing from dozens of residents who said San Jose’s citywide curfew violated their civil rights, city leaders have decided to lift the order on Thursday morning.

After a five-hour discussion about the merits of the curfew on Tuesday afternoon, the San Jose City Council decided that the order, which went into effect on Sunday, will expire at 5 a.m. Thursday.
