Three more Bay Area counties — Santa Clara, Contra Costa and San Mateo — have joined the California counties now allowing outdoor dining at established restaurants.

“Outdoor dining provides access to freshly prepared meals at a relatively low risk of transmission” of the COVID-19 virus, health officers in all three counties said in easing the regulations.
