OAKLAND — In just six days, Oakland Unified School District and the city of Oakland announced today that it has reached its $12.5 million goal to give computers and internet access to thousands of Oakland public school students for the upcoming school year.

Zynga founder Mark Pincus donated the final $700,000; that followed a $10 million donation by Twitter CEO and founder Jack Dorsey on Friday. The campaign, which was announced May 14 by the district, city, Tech Exchange and the Oakland Public Education Fund, already had raised $1.8 million with key donations from the Oakland Public Education Fund, Salesforce and the Golden State Warriors in partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, among others.
