California reported 2,546 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday — the most ever in a single day — bringing the state’s total to 58,657, with the majority of those new cases coming from hard-hit Los Angeles County, according to data compiled by this news organization.
The number of coronavirus cases also continued to grow in the Bay Area, which saw an increase of 217 new cases on Tuesday, bringing the Bay Area’s total to 9,118, the data shows.
