SAN JOSE — Police shot and killed a man who was in the middle of stabbing another man, who also died, during a violent confrontation early Sunday in downtown San Jose.

The incident marked the city’s second officer-involved shooting of the weekend, after a brief police chase Friday night in East San Jose led to an officer firing at an armed suspect, who was not hit and was later arrested.
