Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk said Thursday that he thinks there will be “silver linings” that emerge from the current coronavirus crisis, which he also described as “practice” for a future pandemic that could result in even higher numbers of deaths around the world.

Musk made his comments during an interview with comedian Joe Rogan on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. Musk told Rogan that he thinks the reaction to coronavirus “has taken over the mindspace of the world to a degree that is quite shocking,” and that society is on a course that will be difficult to correct.
