State and local beaches will be temporarily closed in Orange County in response to “disturbing” images of crowds flocking to the coastline last weekend, Gov. Gavin Newsom said Thursday.

Although the state has ordered a “hard close” on beaches in the Southern California county, Newsom stopped short of closing down all coastal parks statewide as some had speculated.
