The Santa Clara County Public Health Department released updated data Thursday that shows 40 more people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus and four more people have died after contracting COVID-19.

The 40 new cases represents the lowest single-day spike since Monday, April 6, when the county registered just 17 new cases. To date, 1,833 people have now tested positive for COVID-19 in Santa Clara County and 69 people have died.
