Bay Area event-organizing company Eventbrite will cut its workforce nearly in half “to better position the company to weather the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic,” it announced this week.

The San Francisco firm, whose platform is used to organize and issue tickets for events including concerts, conventions and classes, said slashing its headcount by 45% is part of a coronavirus-related cost-cutting plan expected to yield at least $100 million in annualized savings.
