Santa Clara is close to becoming the first Bay Area county with more than 1,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

According to new data released by the Public Health Department Wednesday, 956 people in Santa Clara County have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, including 66 since the last update provided on Tuesday.
