Monterey police cited four people for violating the county’s shelter-in-place order Friday night after breaking up a noisy gathering at an apartment.
Officers responded to an apartment complex on Helvic Avenue in response to noise complaints just before 10:15 p.m. Friday, according to a Monterey Police Department news release. Upon arriving, officers found four people inside the apartment — three of whom did not live there. Parties and most gatherings are prohibited under the county’s shelter-in-place order, which requires all residents to shelter in their place of residence, except for essential activities.
