As the number of new coronavirus cases in the Bay Area and throughout the U.S. continues to rise, some experts are looking abroad for lessons learned by countries managing to control the spread of the disease.

For Pamela Baker, a former San Jose resident living in South Korea, coming back to the Bay Area was a shock after experiencing the widespread testing, masks and health checks she said helped keep the virus under control in that country. South Korea reported 93 new cases on Wednesday, down from a peak of 909 on Feb. 29.
