Under a “best-case scenario”, Santa Clara County could see 2,000 coronavirus-related deaths by the end of May, officials said a recent San Jose City Council meeting.
San Jose deputy city manager Kip Harkness stated earlier this week that, based on projections from the city’s office of emergency management, the county’s death toll could reach 2,000 to 16,000 within 12 weeks, with the high-end figure representing the outcome of no mitigation measures.
