Due to concerns over the spread of coronavirus, all hotels and restaurants in Yosemite National Park, including the historic Ahwahnee Hotel, will be closing Tuesday for at least the rest of the month.

The decision comes as the National Park Service on Monday also closed Alcatraz Island and Muir Woods National Monument, the Statue of Liberty in New York City, and the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C. three days earlier, as the pandemic threatened to devastate America’s tourist industry.
