San Mateo County Health officials announced 22 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, upping the total number of identified cases to 64 from 42 the previous day.
The uptick came on the heels of the county’s first reported death on Sunday. County health spokesperson Preston Merchant declined to share how many people have been hospitalized with the illness county-wide.
