Google has joined the ranks of tech companies canceling their big annual conferences due to the spread of coronavirus by saying it won’t hold its annual I/O event this year because of fears about the disease continuing to spread.
Google I/O was scheduled to be held from May 12-14 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View. Google said it made the decision to cancel the “physical” I/O because of concerns about coronavirus “and in accordance with health guidance from the CDC, WHO, and other health authorities.”
