SAN MATEO — San Mateo County officials are warning users of Edgewood Park and Natural Preserve to be aware that a mountain lion was spotted near the Sylvan hiking trail late Friday afternoon.

The animal did not act aggressively, according to an alert sent out by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
