San Jose man arrested in attempted murder-turned-homicide

SAN JOSE – The death of a 41-year-old San Jose man who died two years after being shot has been ruled a homicide by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office, police said.
Officers found Martin Cardenas suffering from at least one gunshot wound in the 700 block of East Mission Street in the early morning hours of July 14, 2016, said San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia in a news release Friday. Cardenas was treated at a hospital and released.
