SAN FRANCISCO — A former petty officer with the U.S. Coast Guard was sentenced to four years in federal prison Wednesday, months after he was caught possessing hundreds of child porn files, court records show.

Clifford Grader was additionally given 10 years of federal probation upon his release, and ordered to pay $8,000 in restitution and fines. In court filings, prosecutors said their sentencing recommendation was influenced by the gravity of the conduct, but also Grader’s history with the Coast Guard and lack of prior arrests.
