A man with a history of domestic-violence convictions, and being sought in the slaying of his ex-girlfriend last weekend at a Milpitas hotel, has himself been found dead in a hotel room in the Central Valley, authorities said.

Kevin James Gitmed, 35, of Gilroy was tracked down Wednesday night to a hotel in Merced County, where detectives and other law enforcement officers told him to come out of a room, according to Milpitas police.
