PG&E warns of possible power shutoffs in Bay Area

Hot, dry and windy conditions on Wednesday could lead Pacific Gas & Electric Co. to shut off power to 50,000 customers, including thousands in the Bay Area, the utility said Monday.
The public safety power shutoff, or PSPS, is forecast to impact customers in “targeted portions” of 21 counties, including 9,545 in Napa, 4,264 in Alameda, 3,334 in Contra Costa, 2,313 in Santa Clara, 1,846 in Sonoma, 1,637 in San Mateo and 938 in Solano.
