As temperatures cooled slightly and skies began to clear Sunday over the Bay Area, forecasters have their eyes on the real prize — a weather system headed for the West Coast that could bring real rainfall over the massive wildfires burning in the North Bay and beyond starting Friday.
National Weather Service meteorologist Rick Canepa said Sunday that forecasting models project that a low pressure system from the northwest is creating conditions for substantial rain in the Bay Area.
