San Francisco Beer Week kicks off Friday with an Opening Gala at Pier 35 and wraps up 10 days later, Feb. 10, with a Decompression Party in Santa Cruz and a Karaoke Invitational in San Francisco. In between, craft brew fans will have to decide among 800-plus events, from beer brunches to tap takeovers.

What caught our eye on the jam-packed schedule? A Hops for Housing fundraiser, the Craft Can Invitational in San Carlos, Beerwalks in Oakland and San Jose, sour Saturdays and Sundays, some fun cider, michelada and food pairings — even Beer Popsicle Day!
