Jeff Bezos’ personal security team, looking into how his intimate text messages with girlfriend Lauren Sanchez were obtained by The National Enquirer, are focusing on whether the leak was politically motivated to embarrass one of President Trump’s well-known enemies, the Daily Beast is reporting.

In early January, the supermarket tabloid published the contents of sometimes romantic, sometimes racy text messages the multi-billionaire Amazon chief sent to Sanchez, a Los Angeles news anchor. The messages seemed to confirm that Bezos, 55, and Sanchez, 49, had been intimately involved as early as this past spring — while he was still married to his wife Mackenzie.
