TOKYO (AP) — A Japanese rocket carrying the United Arab Emirates' first locally made satellite has lifted off from a space center in southern Japan.

The KhalifaSat Earth observation satellite was launched by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency from its Tanegashima Space Center.
