LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — A family has given $1 million to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences to celebrate their loved one and honor the doctor who saved her.

UAMS announced last month that the gift from the family of Pamela Rakhshan will establish an academic chair in her name. The endowment will provide funding for continued research and advancements to treatments for head and neck cancers.
