Microsoft removed a Windows 10 2004 safeguard hold applied to block customers from experiencing sporadic shutdowns and restarts on some Microsoft Surface devices after installing the Windows 10 May 2020 Update.

The known issue behind this compatibility update was causing both errors and unexpected shutdowns and restarts on Surface devices including Microsoft Surface Pro 7 and Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 with more than one Always On, Always Connected capable network adapters.
