In a way, it’s fitting that I’m writing this on a platform called ‘Medium’. In many ways, the posts I intend to write here are all about being medium (or in some cases, about being below-medium). And also, they are about yearning to be something more than medium.

I have been a ‘professional’ coder for about 20 years. In that time, I have written thousands of lines of code in VBA, VB6, PHP, C#, Oracle PL/SQL, and finally in Python. Some of that code has been elegant. Most of that code has been reliable. Much of that code has been uninspiring, when I look back at it.
