Read that headline carefully. Jetpacks are coming to Fortnite as a limited time item, not as an item in a bespoke jetpack limited time mode. The news comes by way of Epic's usual unceremonious and vague notices on the news board in the Fortnite client. Jetpacks were originally intended for Season 3, but they were shelved due to a last-minute issue.

Epic hasn't been shy with dumping new guns and gear into Battle Royale, but given the potential for disaster by introducing an item that could make the tallest forts easy to infiltrate, giving the jetpack an expiration date is probably a smart move.
