Do you think you have what it takes to become the next Nintendo World Champion? You'll soon have an opportunity to prove yourself.

The 2017 Nintendo World Championship tournament will take place on Oct. 7 in New York at Manhattan Center's Grand Ballroom, Nintendo announced Tuesday.

Starting Aug. 19, Best Buy stores will host qualifying events in eight locations around the country. Players will be divided into two groups based on their age, and everyone will play Mario Kart 7 for the Nintendo 3DS.
