Much of the focus on Metal Gear Survive, Konami’s survival-based spin-off of Metal Gear Solid 5, so far has been on the game’s four-player cooperative mode. Today, Konami and game producer Yuji Korekado offer a more comprehensive look at what Metal Gear Survive’s single-player component will look like.

Like the Metal Gear Solid 5 games, Survive will be mission-based. Players will take on the role of a survivor of the attack on Mother Base from Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes. After being transported via wormhole to a strange reality populated by zombie-like Wanderers, players will fight to survive by gathering resources, building up their base and rescuing fellow survivors.
