It’s only been a year since Pokémon Sun and Moon graced our 3DS systems, giving us the most interesting and daring Pokémon games since the 90s. Sun and Moon genuinely changed a lot; gym battles were gone, badges were gone, even the typical Pokémon League set up was done away with. Pokémon Sun and Moon looked at the games and threw out what they saw as inessential to the Pokémon experience. In a word, they were great.
