Niantic pushed a Pokémon Go update this week that prepped the game for the release of new Pokémon. Also tucked into the game’s new version, however, was an anti-cheating measure that prevented players with certain “spoofing” apps on their phones to log in.

But less than an hour after cheaters hit the new roadblock, they found a way around it — and it appears that not much longer after that, Niantic disabled the new feature entirely.
