Why exactly are publishers so eager to sign Epic Games Store exclusivity deals? The Epic Store’s 88/12 revenue split is certainly an attractive prospect, but anybody can get that without signing any deals. Well, it seems we now know what Control publisher 505 Games got in exchange for Epic Games Store exclusivity.

As spotted by analyst Daniel Ahmad, 505 parent company Digital Bros. recently revealed they got €9.5 million (around $10.5 million) from Epic Games. Digital Bros’ financial report only covers up until June 30, more than a month before Control’s release date, so presumably it was a payment to secure exclusivity.
