CD Projekt Red Now a “Dual-Franchise” Studio, Witcher 3 Selling Better in 2019 than 2018

Yesterday evening CD Projekt released a detailed financial accounting of the first half of 2019, and it seems things are going well for the Witcher and Cyberpunk developer. Revenue was up 26 percent to 214 million Polish Zloty (around $54 million USD) compared to the same period in 2018, with net income being relatively flat due to Cyberpunk 2077 development costs. The majority of CDPR’s revenue came from the surprising continuing success of The Witcher 3, which actually sold better in the first six months of 2019 than the first half of 2018. Sales of The Witcher 3 remain strong. The further confirms our belief that investing in top-quality games pays off, and that such games may continue to sell well for many years. In the first half of 2019 gamers actually purchased more copies of The Witcher 3 than during the first half of the previous year!
