With the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series on indefinite hiatus, a bird of a different feather — Skatebird — is ready to take on the mantle of video game skateboarding. Skatebird, from indie developer Glass Bottom Games, looks like it will reimagine the grinding, kickflipping and trick-fueled combos of the Tony Hawk series on a much smaller, much more adorable scale.
Skatebird’s comparisons to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater aren’t subtle. The game’s Steam listing promises “tiny worlds full of little objectives and secret tapes (scotch tapes mostly)” and “smooth flowing, physical-feeling skating with simple buttons, not stick gestures.”
